One of Ida Lee's Two Tennis Bubbles Will Reopen Monday, February 2

Post Date:01/31/2026 5:55 PM

Leesburg, VA (January 31, 2026) – The original four-court tennis bubble installed in Ida Lee Park in 2007 will reopen on Monday, February 2.

Out of an abundance of caution, a controlled deflation of the four-court bubble, built in 2007, was performed earlier last week following the collapse of the three-court bubble during the winter storm on Sunday, January 25. Following the completion of minor repairs, all classes, contracts, and private lessons at the four-court, 2007 bubble will resume on Monday.

The three-court bubble, which was installed in 2022, will remain closed as repairs are addressed. All classes, contracts, and lessons regularly scheduled in this bubble through Friday, February 6, are cancelled. Refunds will be issued for all classes, contracts, and lessons impacted by this closure. The status of the bubble will be re-evaluated by mid-week with an update provided on a reopening date.

For questions about classes or reservations, please reach out to the Tennis Supervisor, Jowita Snowden, at jsnowden@leesburgva.gov, or call the Ida Lee Park Recreation Center at 703-777-1368.
