Leesburg, VA (December 30, 2025) – The Leesburg Police Department has identified the suspect involved in a serious physical assault that occurred on Sunday evening, December 28, 2025, at the Ida Lee Park Recreation Center.
At approximately 6:30 p.m., officers responded to the Ida Lee Park Recreation Center, located at 60 Ida Lee Drive NW, Leesburg, for an assault that occurred during a basketball game. During the game, an adult male struck a juvenile in the face, causing serious injuries. The suspect left the scene before officers’ arrival, and the victim was transported to a local area hospital for treatment.
As a result of the investigation, Jacob D. Martin, 23, of Hedgesville, West Virginia, was identified as the suspect. Martin turned himself in to the Leesburg Police Department this afternoon and was charged with Malicious Wounding. He was transported to the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center, where he is being held without bond.
In accordance with privacy laws, no further information regarding the juvenile victim will be released.
