Leesburg Partners with Knights of Columbus and VFW Post 1177 to Collect “Sweats for Vets”

Sweats for VetsLeesburg, VA (December 1, 2025) – The Town of Leesburg is once again partnering with the Knights of Columbus and VFW Post 1177 to collect sweatsuits that will be donated to in-patients at the Veterans Affairs (VA) Medical Center in Martinsburg, West Virginia. 

Collection boxes are located at Town Hall and Ida Lee Park Recreation Center. Donations are being accepted now through Monday, December 22.  

Donation guidelines are as follows:

• New sweatshirts and sweatpants only. Matching sets preferred.
• All sizes accepted, but there is greater need for sizes L, XL, and XXL.
• Sweats should not be gift-wrapped.
• If desired, include a label with the name of the donor (individual or organization).

Sweats will be packaged at VFW Post 1177, 401 Old Waterford Road, in Leesburg, on Friday, December 26. Volunteers are welcome to attend from 9 a.m. to noon. Packages will be delivered to the Martinsburg VA Medical Center following New Year’s Day.
