"The Secret Life of Paper" Discussion Scheduled at Thomas Balch Library

Post Date:11/25/2025 9:30 AM

Leesburg, VA (November 25, 2025) – Tammy Tran, Curator of Manuscripts and Archives for Thomas Balch Library, will present “The Secret Life of Paper,” on Thursday, December 4, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Tran will provide an The Secret Life of Paper overview of where paper comes from, its long history, and how this essential medium has evolved over the centuries.

Even in today’s digital age, paper remains a vital part of daily life, carrying our stories, preserving our records, and helping us connect with one another.

This program invites participants to look more closely at this familiar material. The more informed we are about this wonderful medium, the more agency we’ll have to care for our own materials and preserve them for generations to come.

The event will be held both in person at the library (208 West Market Street, Leesburg) and online. Pre-registration is required for this event. Please call 703-737-7195, email balchlib@leesburgva.gov, or register online.
