Archives Fair Flyer 2025Leesburg, VA (September 26, 2025) – Thomas Balch Library will host the Shenandoah Valley Archives Fair on Wednesday, October 8, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Since 2019, the Archives Fair has offered visitors a chance to meet archivists, librarians, and museum staff, explore unique historical materials, and discover primary sources for research. It’s especially valuable for students, teachers, genealogists, and history enthusiasts, and is part of Virginia’s Archives Month each October.

This year’s fair brings together representatives from more than a dozen libraries, museums, historical societies, and archives across Virginia, including both local and state institutions. At 11 a.m., visitors can also join an “Ask an Archivist” panel to learn more about research, archives, and careers in history.

“The Archives Fair is an amazing opportunity for the public to connect with the people and institutions preserving the history of the Shenandoah Valley, and the surrounding region,” said Thomas Balch Library Director Laura Christiansen. “We’re thrilled to welcome so many partner organizations to Leesburg and provide a space for the community to engage with the region’s past.”
