New Town Hall Art Exhibit Features Watercolors by Chip Beck

Watercolors hanging on the walls at Leesburg Town HallLeesburg, VA (September 11, 2025) – The Leesburg Commission on Public Art (COPA) is pleased to announce a new art exhibit currently on display on the first floor of Leesburg Town Hall (25 West Market Street).

Chip Beck is showcasing a display of watercolors that capture historic Hillsboro, locations throughout Loudoun County, and highlights from his travels abroad.

The exhibit will run through November 2025 and can be viewed in-person Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. An open house will be held on Friday, November 7, from 5 to 6 p.m., for those interested in meeting the artist. 

The first-floor lobby and hallway of the Leesburg Town Hall features rotating exhibits by Leesburg and Loudoun artists. Those interested in having their work considered for a future exhibit should contact Leah Kosin, staff liaison to the Commission on Public Art, at lkosin@leesburgva.gov.

Chip Beck is a Loudoun artist whose work is inspired by Hillsboro and the 1752 village known as “The Gap.” He created the weekly editorial cartoon series CHIPshots for Loudoun Now and has contributed cartoons since the 1980s. Beck served as the Navy’s official Combat Artist in Operation Desert Storm and has documented conflicts around the world. His 150 paintings are in government collections, including the Navy, CIA, State Department, and Pentagon.
