Pop-Up Exhibit to Highlight Apothecaries and Pharmacies in Leesburg and Loudoun County

Littlejohn Drugs store frontLeesburg, VA (August 29, 2025) – Join Thomas Balch Library staff on Friday, September 5, for a special pop-up exhibit at the Donaldson Log Cabin. 

Apothecaries & Pharmacies in Leesburg and Loudoun County will highlight how local apothecaries and pharmacies served the community and its impact on the history of medicine. 

Visitors can view original records and artifacts from the library’s collections, explore stories from 19th and 20th local pharmacies, as well as the Emily Lloyd poison case. 

The free event will take place at the Donaldson Log Cabin, 14 Loudoun St. SW. Visitors are welcome to stop by anytime between 5 and 7 p.m. For more information, call 703-737-7195 or email balchlib@leesburgva.gov.
