Olde Izaak Walton Park, Dog Park to Close for Bridge Repairs

Post Date:08/05/2025 9:43 AM

Leesburg, VA (August 5, 2025) – Olde Izaak Walton Park, including the Leesburg Dog Park, will be closed beginning Monday, August 18, for repairs to the Davis Court SE bridge leading into the park.  No vehicular or Davis Court bridge pedestrian access across the bridge will be allowed during this time.

Work on the bridge includes steel beam replacement, masonry repairs, and concrete and asphalt work. Due to the bridge being the sole access point into and out of the park, the entire park will be closed for the duration of construction.

Bridge repairs are expected to be completed and the park reopened by Friday, October 11, weather dependent.

More information about the project can be found at https://bit.ly/40SeCa6.

For those looking for options for off-leash dog areas during the Dog Park closure, the Loudoun County Department of Parks, Recreation, and Community Services has several nearby options, including Franklin Park in Purcellville; Potomac Green Neighborhood Park in Ashburn; and Hal and Berni Hanson Regional Park in Aldie.
