Loudoun United and Virginia Revolution Take Home This Year's Patriot Cup Trophy

Post Date:07/07/2025 3:28 PM

Leesburg, VA (July 7, 2025) – The spirit of teamwork and patriotism was on full display during Leesburg’s Fourth of July parade as Loudoun United and Virginia Revolution joined Patriot Cup Winner 2025 forces to create this year’s winning parade float.

A vibrant celebration of American pride, the float featured a three-tiered red, white, and blue cake, surrounded by American flags and a bald eagle. The eye-catching display took more than 20 hours to design and build, all through a collaborative effort by volunteers from both organizations.

“A little bit of inspiration came from other successful floats that we’ve seen around the country and then we adapted a version that we had last year to make it more red, white, and blue,” said Loudoun United volunteer Jim Miller. It was a lot of hard work, he said, but it all felt worth it when they were presented with this year’s Patriot Cup trophy.

The group will be recognized as the winner of the 18th annual Patriot Cup trophy at an upcoming Leesburg Town Council meeting. Sponsored by Loudoun Now, the trophy will be engraved with their name and placed on display at Town Hall.
