Replacement of Small Playground at Ida Lee Park to Begin on Monday, June 30

Post Date:06/26/2025 11:31 AM
Small playground at Ida LeeLeesburg, VA (June 26, 2025) – The Town of Leesburg has scheduled the replacement of the small playground at Ida Lee Park to begin on Monday, June 30. The playground is located between the recreation center (60 Ida Lee Drive NW) and AV Symington Aquatic Center.

To ensure the safety of patrons and create a safe work environment for the contractors, the playground will be closed to the public. Other areas of the park (including the outdoor pool) will remain open during the playground replacement. Patrons are asked to remain mindful of fencing and closure signs placed during construction.

Based on public input, the new playground is planned for children ages five and under and will feature fencing, shade structures, seating areas, low deck heights (up to three feet), and accessibility elements.

The new playground is anticipated to be completed by the end of July, weather permitting. Anyone with questions is asked to email Assistant Director of Parks and Recreation Jon Cleaves at jcleaves@leesburgva.gov.
