Christopher CollinsUPDTE #1: Additional Charges Brought in Child Pornography Investigation

Leesburg, VA (December 21, 2023) – Christopher Collins, 34, of Leesburg, has been charged with four additional counts of possession of child pornography.  The new charges each constitute a class five felony as each are considered a second or subsequent violation.

The charges stem from a cyber tip relating to child pornography. Upon receipt of the tip earlier this year, a Leesburg police detective assigned to the NOVA-DC Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force conducted an investigation and determined that Christopher Collins was in possession of sexually explicit material involving a child.  Collins was taken into custody without incident on the morning of September 7, 2023 at his home, located in the 600 block of Constellation Square SE.  He was charged at that time with one count of possession of child pornography, a class six felony.  A search warrant was subsequently executed at the residence and digital evidence was seized.

A forensic analysis of Collins’ seized items showed that he was in possession of additional sexually explicit material involving a child or children.  The four new charges relate to this discovery.

We would like to once again thank our local, state, and federal law enforcement partners from the NOVA-DC Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, including but not limited to, Virginia State Police, Homeland Security Investigations, and United States Secret Service for their invaluable assistance in this investigation.

At the time of his rearrest, Collins was free on bond on the initial possession of child pornography charge.  Collins once again remains held at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center with no bond.
