Foxridge Park Swing Set and Surfacing Replacement to Begin Monday, April 20

The Town of Leesburg's Parks and Recreation Department will begin replacement of the existing two-bay swing set, safety surfacing, and wood border at the Foxridge Park Playground located at 525 Catoctin Circle SW.

The project includes the removal and similar replacement of the existing two-bay swing set. In addition, the existing wood chip surfacing will be replaced throughout the entire playground area with a bonded rubber surface, designed to improve safety, accessibility, and overall play experience. New timber borders will also be installed to frame out the playground area.

To ensure public safety and provide a secure work environment for contractors, the entire playground area and seven parking lot spaces will be temporarily closed during construction. The area is expected to be reopened by Monday, May 4.

Other amenities including the Foxridge Pavilion, softball field, and outdoor basketball court will remain open for public use. Visitors are asked to remain mindful of construction fencing and posted closure signs throughout the duration of the project.

Anyone with questions is asked to email Assistant Director of Parks and Recreation Jon Cleaves at jcleaves@leesburgva.gov.

Veterans Park is Closed

With the ongoing construction on the Veterans Park project, public entry into the construction site is prohibited. Please respect posted signage and safety fencing and avoid the park property while construction continues. Learn more about the Veterans Park project.

Improvements

Westpark Property

The Westpark property is located within the Town of Leesburg, but is owned by Loudoun County, who is designing a passive park. The preliminary designs will consist of walking and biking trails on the county-owned land located around the Leesburg Country Club Subdivision and along Country Club Drive. Visit the Loudoun County website to learn more.
