The Performing Arts Commission (PAC) will host the event Music George Washington Heard at St. James' Episcopal Church (8 Cornwall St. NW, Leesburg). 

The event will include performances by the Leesburg Violin Studio and local guitarist Kareem McCullough to showcase music from the late 18th century, of the type George Washington would have heard during his life. Guests will also be invited to interact with colonial reenactors!

The event is dedicated to the memory of Dr. Steven Cooksey, the late Organist and Choir Master who served St. James' for over 40 years before his passing in 2025. Before his passing, Dr. Cooksey expressed a desire to host a performance featuring music from the era of George Washington at the St. James' Episcopal Church. This event bring Dr. Cooksey's vision to fruition and will commence with a proclamation reading dedicating the event to Dr. Cooksey's memory.
