Revolution on Screen: 1776 (1972) with Carrie Christoffersen

Join us for a lively discussion series exploring how the American Revolution has been portrayed in film and television. Watch the selected movie or episode beforehand, then join a discussion on historical accuracy, character depictions, and storytelling—led by local historians. July's selection will be the 1972 film 1776, directed by Peter H. Hunt and based on the Broadway musical by Peter Stone and Sherman Edwards. 1776 offers a musical and fictionalized portrayal of the debates in Philadelphia leading up to the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Local historian and Loudoun Museum Director Carrie Christoffersen will lead the discussion. View before the event Free on Tubi.
