The Genealogy Club at Thomas Balch Library was organized in August 2025! The club is held both in-person and virtually and meets on the second Thursday of each month to discuss shared interests such as using and finding resources, DNA skills and techniques, how to be better organized, and utilizing Thomas Balch Library’s resources for Loudoun Genealogy. Members have created a “chat” portion of the meeting to share new or interesting research like their DNA journey, how to use newspapers in your research, finding Female Patriots in Loudoun County during the American Revolution, and how to navigate the Genealogical Proof Standard.

You do not need to have Loudoun ancestry to join! The club welcomes anyone interested in networking or those who would want a chance to shape a newly fledgling club. Email genealogyclubloudoun@gmail.com for more information or if you are interested in attending virtually.
