The Technology and Communications Commission is hosting Cyber Education for Adults, a free workshop designed for senior citizens and anyone else that would like to participate. This session will provide practical, easy-to-understand tips to help residents stay safe while using smartphones, email, and the internet.
Topics include protecting your phone from hackers, recognizing and avoiding phishing and tech support scams, what to do if you think you’ve been scammed, and how to safely remove personal information before getting rid of a phone. The workshop is led by commissioners who collectively bring over 150 years of experience in the information technology industry. No technical experience is required, and time will be available for questions.
