Exhibit - Civil War Artifacts

July & August 2017 has a new & interesting display at Thomas Balch Library. It comprises Civil War Relics that were actually found in Loudoun County in places like Purcellville, Hillsboro and Neersville. These artifacts were dug by John Creamer. He made his hobby a family affair as his father, his son and he have all dug for these relics. His collection is vast and very interesting. Here is some of what you can see displayed:

  • Bullets of all types
  • Swivel Hooks
  • Army Breast Plates
  • Hand Cuff Keys
  • Old lock & keys
  • Swords
  • Pistol
  • Jews Harp
  • Schenkle Artillery Shell (exploded) Found at Potomac Crossing
  • 1862 Cavalry Saber
