Latex paint is not considered hazardous waste material when solidified. However, neither the Town of Leesburg’s refuse collectors nor the county landfill will accept liquid paint waste. To solidify paint, you must add an absorbent material such as kitty litter, sawdust or newspaper. A commercial waste paint hardener may also be available at home improvement stores. Once the paint has fully dried, the paint container may be bagged and placed with regular household waste for disposal.
