In 2003, the Town revised its Zoning Ordinance as adopted by Council Ordinance No. 2003-0-2. The Zoning Ordinance was adopted to protect the health, safety, and welfare of the residents and businesses of Leesburg; to advance the objectives set out in Section 15.2-2200 of the Code of Virginia
(1950, as amended); and to implement the Town Plan. The Zoning Map and subsequent amendments were added as needed to assure good governance.
To register a zoning violation complaint, please complete the respective form (Alleged Zoning Violation Complaint or Excessive Occupany Questionnaire), and forward to the Department of Planning and Zoning at Town Hall (25 West Market Street, 2nd floor service counter). A Zoning Inspector will then research the reported violation.
For interpretations of the Zoning Ordinance, contact the Zoning Administrator, Christopher Murphy, or the Deputy Zoning Administrator, Wade Burkholder.
