November 7, 2012 – On Tuesday evening at approximately 9:30 PM, November 6th, 2012, a Leesburg Police Department officer was injured at the end of a training exercise. The officer, who is assigned to the departments Criminal Investigation Section, received a superficial injury as the result of an accidental discharge of a firearm in the possession of another Leesburg officer. The injured officer was immediately transported to Loudoun Inova Hospital. He was treated and released. The incident is now under review by the department.
