Project Description: This project included replacement of the existing inadequate storm drain system with a larger and more efficient system. This storm drainage system serves as the outfall for a large watershed that extends along North King Street and includes Union Cemetery and portions of Ida Lee Park.
This project was constructed in conjuction with the separate North King Street Drainage Improvements project in the upper portions of the watershed (along North King Street, Union Street and Wirt Street) to alleviate flooding during severe storm events.
The project involved replacement of the existing storm system between North Street and Edwards Ferry Road primarily through the parking lot of the Colonial Square office condominiums.
Current Status: Project was completed in 2009.
