As part of the application for Occupancy Permit, issued through Loudoun County Department of Building & Development, the builder must obtain Town approval (sign-off) for the SANITATION portion of the application.

To request a CCTV inspection of sewer lateral and water service as part of the occupancy permit process in accordance with Town’s Design and Construction Standards Manual (DCSM ), all developers/contractors must schedule occupancy inspection of the water service and sewer lateral.

To schedule inspection of the service connections, and any backflow devices / cross connection control measures, if applicable, please call the Utilities Department at 703-771-2762, before 2:00 p.m. the day before the required inspection date.

Builders are reminded to have ALL TESTABLE backflow devices tested by a certified backflow tester and passing test results form submitted to the Town's Utilities Department before requesting sign-off on the application.

Please note, inspections will NOT be done the same day they are requested.  If a request is made before 2:00 pm, inspection will be the next business day.  If a request is made after 2:00 pm, inspection will be 2nd business day.  For example, requests received Friday before 2:00 pm will have inspection done on Monday; requests received Friday after 2:00 pm will have inspection done on Tuesday.  Only business days apply – no weekend inspections.

There are fees associated with these inspections. The initial fee is collected at the time of issuance of the public facility permit. Fees for commercial facilities are $100 and $50 for residential units. Subsequent inspections due to failing initial inspection or site not being ready for inspection will incur a re-inspection fee of $100 per each incident of commercial facilities and $50 for residential re-inspection.

Please contact Betsy Payne, Utilities Department, 703-771-2762, if you have any questions regarding a pending or previous inspection.
