Project Overview

The Economic Development Steering Committee was a collaborative effort to formulate recommendations and potential action steps to the Town Council regarding Economic Development policies and strategies within the Town.  Per Council's Resolution 2017-071, staff was to work with the Committee, which consisted of two representatives from Town Council (non-voting), two members of the Planning Commission, one member of the Leesburg Economic Development Commission, two business and/or property owners within the Town, and two residents of the Town. This Steering Committee was tasked with accomplishing the following objectives:

  • Review economic development policies and strategies Town-wide
  • Solicit and receive stakeholder input on economic development policies and strategies
  • Formulate their recommendations and actions for Town Council review
