I got a ticket for parking in a handicapped zone. I have a handicapped placard but forgot to display it. What can I do?
Take the handicapped placard you have to the Finance Department at Town Hall, 25 West Market Street, Leesburg, VA 20176, e-mail a scanned image of the handicapped placard and parking ticket to firstname.lastname@example.org or call 703-771-2701.
I feel that I did not deserve the ticket, what can I do?
To appeal your ticket/citation, you must notify the town in writing on the appropriate appeal form (see below) within 15 days of receipt of the ticket. The Town will contact you only if additional information is needed. The Town will process and certify the appeal to the Loudoun General District Court. I mailed my payment on the sixteenth calendar day and only paid the original fine amount. What will happen?
Since payment is received after the fifteenth calendar day, a partial payment will processed on the parking ticket and a letter will be mailed with the outstanding balance.
I mailed my payment on the fourteenth day. Will I be penalized if it reaches the Treasurer's Office after the fifteenth calendar?
Yes. Parking ticket payments are processed when received not based on the postmark date of the envelope.
How long do I have to pay a parking fine?
The parking fine is due within fifteen (15) calendar days of the issue date. If the parking fine is not paid within 15 calendar days, the parking fine doubles.
I put money in the parking meter and nothing happened. What should I do?
Contact the Finance Department immediately at 703-771-2701 or stop by Town Hall at 25 West Market Street, Leesburg VA 20176 to report a broken meter. In the event, you have received a ticket and report the meter broken, we will inspect the meter and inform you of our findings.
