Stormwater Pollution by Lawn Care

In addition to regular curbside collection of refuse and recycling, through its contractor, the Town of Leesburg also provides for pickup of items which are too large to be collected with regular refuse removal. Collections are on Fridays only, by request, at no charge. E-mail trash@leesburgva.gov or phone 703-771-2790 to request a pickup.  Requests must be received before 12:00PM Thursday for same week pickup. When requesting a bulk pickup or preparing your items for collection, please keep in mind the following guidelines:

*Special EPA rules apply for any appliances containing Freon. Before the item can be collected, the Freon must be removed by a certified technician who will then place a sticker on the item stating that it is Freon free.   The Town of Leesburg does not provide references to contractors providing this service – you may wish to contact a refrigeration repair provider to inquire if they offer such services.

**Construction debris, drywall, rocks, sod, concrete, dirt and similar items are not eligible for bulk pickup.  If you are having services provided by a contractor, you must arrange with the contractor for removal of debris, or take the items to the landfill. If you have smaller tree limbs (under 8' in length and 6" in diameter), these cannot be collected as a bulk pickup, but may be collected with regular brush collection.

You may also submit your request on-line by using the Bulk Pickup Request Form.  Requests must be received before 12:00PM Thursday for same week pickup.  You will receive an e-mail confirmation that your request has been received.
