Leesburg, VA (August 25, 2017) – The Friends of Leesburg Public Arts are sponsoring the 6th annual Leesburg Fine Art Festival in downtown Leesburg, on Saturday and Sunday, September 23 and 24, 2016. A portion of the proceeds from the festival will support the Friends of Leesburg Public Arts.

Art from the Fine Art Festival

Coordinated by Paragon Art Events, the art festival offers an opportunity to explore the creativity and diversity of styles in the creations of painters, jewelers, sculptors, digital artisans, photographers, mixed-media and fiber artists. Visitors can select from handmade artwork in glass, ceramics, metalwork and woodworking; interact with the artisans and learn how the pieces were created. The art festival will showcase nationally and internationally acclaimed arts from more than 20 states and overseas. Each piece of art in the festival will be an original creation. During the festival, the Friends of Leesburg Public Arts will offer hands-on children’s art activities at their booth on King Street.

Admission to the Leesburg Fine Art Festival is free. Hours are 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on both days. There will be street closures in downtown Leesburg for this event. King Street from Cornwall Street to Loudoun Street and Market Street from Church Street to Wirt Street will be closed, beginning at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, September 22. Streets should reopen at approximately 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 24.

The Friend of Leesburg Public Arts’ mission is to provide funding and support for public art and arts-related programs within the Town of Leesburg. In addition to hosting the annual art festival, they are currently raising funds for a mural on the Loudoun Street side of the Town Hall Parking Garage, Sculpture Garden in Raflo Park, and other art projects in Leesburg.
